Known as "America's First National Park", Yellowstone National Park was established in 1872 and has been a popular destination for those visiting Montana and Wyoming. Weathered to look as if it came right from the park, this sign evokes a sense of age and history. Yellowstone Park is famous for it's gorgeous valleys, geysers, and rivers and is also home to a variety of wildlife, including the Grizzly Bear, which is depicted in this artwork. "The Griz" once numbered 100,00 and inhabited most of the American West. Now Yellowstone is the southernmost habitat for 150 of the estimated 1,000 remaining in the lower 48 states. My inspiration for this piece came from Yellowstone's rich history and the simplicity of the past. This is a substantial piece of art with an approximate sizes of 19" x 19" and 23" x 23". There is a wire on the back for hanging.
